Genetic Tamoxifen

Commonly known as an anti-estrogen, Tamoxifen Citrate functions as both an antagonist and agonist. This means it can block estrogen in some parts of the body while mimicking its effects in others.

Though widely used among anabolic steroid users, Tamoxifen is not a steroid itself. Users often take it to manage estrogen-related side effects that can arise with certain steroids. Its most frequent application is during Post Cycle Therapy (PCT).

For anabolic steroid users, the beneficial effects of Tamoxifen Citrate are noticeable both during and after steroid use, with a focus on post-use benefits. While it does not decrease serum estrogen levels, it binds to chest receptors, preventing estrogen from attaching. Tamoxifen may not effectively address water retention issues and might not offer sufficient gynecomastia protection for all men, depending on their estrogen levels and genetic predisposition. In cases requiring stronger protection, Aromatase Inhibitors (AIs) are advised.

Tamoxifen Citrate also has testosterone-stimulating properties, which are particularly vital for anabolic steroid users. Anabolic steroids suppress natural testosterone production, necessitating the inclusion of exogenous testosterone in nearly all steroid cycles to avoid low testosterone levels. After completing steroid use, support is needed to reactivate testosterone production, which Tamoxifen can accelerate and enhance.

For breast cancer patients, the role of Tamoxifen Citrate is simpler. Estrogen drives cancer growth, but Tamoxifen blocks its attachment to cells, effectively starving the cancer. This straightforward treatment approach is often combined with other medications, starting with an AI and then transitioning to a SERM like Tamoxifen Citrate, which might also be used preventively in patients with a strong family history of breast cancer.

In the context of breast cancer treatment, there are six dosage protocols for Tamoxifen Citrate applicable to both male and female patients. Typical dosages range from 10-20mg taken twice daily. A common starting dose during the initial phase of Tamoxifen treatment is a total of 40mg per day (20mg twice daily). Many breast cancer patients continue with 10-20mg daily indefinitely once in remission to prevent cancer recurrence.For anabolic steroid users, the standard prevention for gynecomastia while on cycle is 10-20mg daily. If this dosage does not yield results, it is unlikely any higher dose will, and AIs should be considered instead.

When used for PCT, most plans begin with a dose of 40mg daily for 2-3 weeks, followed by a reduction to 20mg per day for another 2-3 weeks.
